5 Archive #14 – Jerry Pentecost, Drummer & DJ

Music Valley Archive makes clothing & collectibles to help you rep Nashville's old school soul. Here on 5 Archive, Music City-based artists, creators and small business owners share their 5 current obsessions.

—————

I’m a drummer, DJ and a style/life coach. I play drums for a songwriter, DJ for the Nashville Preds and am always down for a good hang. I was born in Nashville, graduated high school in Hendersonville and now I’m a full-time dad/musician. I try to keep it interesting!

Tofu Cashew Stir-Fry at The Smiling Elephant

What’s not to love?! It’s got everything – pan seared tofu, broccoli, pineapple, cashews! The list goes on and on. And man…that sauce on the side! One of my all time favorites for sure.

Sonor Vintage Series Drums

These are the best drums I’ve ever played! End of story.

Stax Records

Stax was a powerhouse! My favorite drummer (Al Jackson Jr.) was in the house band and played on most of the early records. Stax had a strong community vibe and I think that was the secret to its success.

The Madison Library

My daughters love going to story time at the Madison Library. They always come back talking about Ms. Lauren and Ms. Lisa and how much fun they had!

BBQ Asian Tofu sandwich at Mitchell Deli

When I lived on the Eastside, I would go to Mitchell’s once a week and get this sandwich. Almost a decade later and I still love it!
